This last spring certainly has been an interesting one. The groundhog predicted and early spring. I believe this pictures proves otherwise…
The snowfall on March 6th was enough to make Kaden’s first large snowman! Nice hair, Frosty!
Snowfall on March 25th.
In April we walked the Monticello Trail. Here are Rebecca and Kaden popping out of the centuries old giant poplar logs that were once from the tree that stood near the West Front of Monticello, traditionally regarded as a tree from Jefferson’s era.
We enjoyed Charlottesville’s Dogwood Festival in April. Kaden’s favorite attraction was the automobile ride. See him turning the wheel? Guess he doesn’t trust the ride to do it for him! Of course, he couldn’t leave without having a snow cone.
Lexi and Kaden enjoyed the UVA baseball game against VCU. We only made it to the 5th inning, but now Kaden isn’t satisfied with hitting his plastic ball off of the tee--now we have to throw it to him, just like the real thing. Cousin Brielle and Uncle Brandon joined us as well! Go ‘Hoos!
One of my co-workers at Employee Health has been honing her skills in artistry. I commissioned her to do this painting for Rebecca’s birthday. Two months previous, I asked Rebecca what her favorite scenery was and her reply was “mountains and forest with flowers”. This painting is of Albion Canyon in Utah, the area where we celebrated our 1st anniversary.

the painting turned out beautifully!
Your kids are cute and all, but that paintings takes the cake!
What a gorgeous painting! It does seem like the groundhog messed up this year--but love the snowman. Looks like a fun dogwood festival with rides--I think the giant poplars look a little like fossils. And Lexi and Kaden were definitely having fun at the game--grandma and grandpa will be in charge of the snowcones again this year for our WR parade =-)
